Pre-Procedure Information


 

  • You must be 18 years of age or older
  • Organ Transplant Recipients - you are not a candidate
  • Pregnant or nursing - you are not a candidate.

 


Contraindications:


There are contraindications for permanent makeup. If you have a consultation/appointment for permanent makeup and the technician does not ask you about your medical history, please consider finding another permanent makeup artist. You do not want to put yourself at risk.

You may need medical clearance for the following: glaucoma (eyeliner procedure), high blood pressure (eyeliner procedure), skin cancer, hemophiliac, have healing disorders, on blood thinners, mitral valve disorders, some auto-immune disorders, grave's disease (eyeliner), any eye condition that you are currently under a physician's care for, insulin diabetic, joint replacement, Let me know if you had/ have allergic reactions to topical anesthetics.


Other Contraindications:

 

AHA's (lactic, glycolic, citric, retinoic acids) or any OTC creams/lotions fused for tone correcting, anti-aging, exfoliating. Fading or discoloration can occur if these are used during the healing process.

COUMADIN: Amount of bleeding and response to topical anesthetic will determine the appointment. If excessive bleeding occurs, extra appointments may be necessary for desired outcome or procedure may not be effective.

CANCER/CHEMOTHERAPY: Doctors clearance may be necessary

LATISSE: This medication may cause discoloration of the skin, thin the capillaries in the eyelid, and/or decrease the time between touch ups.

LASIK: wait 3 months for an eyeliner procedure.

JUVEDERM or other fillers: Recommended to get permanent makeup prior to a filler or ask the RN for clearance.

SHINGLES(varicella): If you have shingles on your face, wait several months to get permanent makeup.

EYELIFT or blepharoplasty: wait about 3 months

EYELASH EXTENSIONS: wait 3 months to apply them in order for your eyeliner to completely heal. the adhesives may cause irritation even after you seem to be healed.

PINKEYE: As soon as their infection has cleared, medication complete.

COLD SORES: clients must take antiviral medications prior to a lip procedure to help prevent an outbreak. Your doctor can prescribe this to you.
