FAQ's

Permanent Cosmetics?

Is it painful?

Most people experience minimal to no discomfort although this will vary according to each individual’s pain threshold. Various topical anesthetics are used before and during the procedure that will help keep you as comfortable as possible. Feel free to bring your own earphones and music to relax and distract you.

How long does it take to heal?

Healing time varies for each individual. usually, it takes about 7-10 days for the exfoliation phase to complete. Any flaking/
peeling during healing will begin around day 4/5 and can last up to 5 days. Your skin will appear to be healed after exfoliation but
please take note that pigment takes some time to settle into the skin. The final color will be revealed between 4-6 weeks. You will usually know around the 2-week mark if an additional session is needed.

How many sessions will I need?

Two sessions are typical to complete a procedure. On occasion, a third may be needed for minor adjustments. Everyone heals differently and results vary depending on skin type, general health, lifestyle, medications, and skincare products used. Oily skin, textured skin (large pores, wrinkles, etc) clients with little to no brow hair or mature skin (40+) will generally need two or three sessions. Touch-up appointments are scheduled between 6 weeks- 6 months post-procedure

How often do I need a maintenance touch up?

This will vary based on the previous question. On average, most clients get a touch-up to refresh color every 1-2 years to maintain color.

What should I avoid after the procedure?

Direct sun exposure for 4 weeks. Hats and sunglasses are recommended if you will be outdoors for a prolonged amount of
time. Swimming in chlorinated pools, oceans, lakes, and saunas for 10-14 days.
Heavy exercise for 5 days or anything that will make you sweat or potentially red in the face.
Pets near your tattoo, gardening or anything that creates dust or dander for 7 days.
Topical makeup directly ON the procedure until the exfoliation/flaking phase has finished (around 5-10 days).
Facials or skin care treatments for 3 weeks.

How long will it last?

Color longevity will vary on your skin type and how well your skin retains pigment, color choice, time in the sun and daily skin
routines. With facial skin, there tends to be more fluid circulation (oil, lymph, blood) than other parts of the body. Your face is also exposed to a range of elements daily; sun exposure, facial products used(anti-aging and Retin A will fade faster), and exfoliation.
All of these things cause the ink to fade, hence the need to refresh the color every 1-3 years.

Should I wax my brows before I come in?

Please wax 1 week prior to your tattoo appointment, However, I will clean up any brow hair during the stencil/shaping process.
DO NOT SHAVE them off! It is best to keep as much natural brow hair in the shape and design. If the natural brow is highly
asymmetrical, there may be instances where more hair will be removed to achieve the results we want.

Do you take a client with existing cosmetic tattooing/ microblading from another artist?

Yes, but only on a case-by-case basis. Please contact to set up a free consultation or send clear photos of your existing work before
booking.

What is the difference between Powdered/Ombre/Shaded Eyebrows and Microblading/Hairstrokes?

The Powder/Ombre Brow technique creates a beautiful, soft shaded eyebrow that is suitable for all skin types. Depending on the client's desired results, this advanced technique can offer both a very soft/natural powdered look to a beautiful defined powdered look. This technique is preferred because the healed
results are natural and soft, yet still clean and defined. This is a more gentle technique on the delicate skin of our eyebrows. Microblading or the hair stroke eyebrow technique is the process where pigment is implanted into the skin to simulate actual hair
